Frequently Asked Questions
-
I am located in Houston, Texas and available to see clients virtually who live in and are physically located anywhere in the state of Texas at the time of the therapy appointment.
-
After our initial consultation, I will send you an invitation to create an account in the HIPAA compliant Sessions Health portal to complete consent forms and intake questionnaire paperwork. I ask that all paperwork is completed at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment to keep your reserved time. All sessions will occur virtually through the Sessions Health video conferencing platform. I can see you anywhere as long as you live in and are physically present anywhere within the state of Texas at the time of the scheduled appointment.

At this time, I offer therapy exclusively online to provide greater flexibility and comfort.
Online therapy works. Research finds it can be as effective as in‑person therapy for many people.

If you are looking to schedule an in-person psychological evaluation with me, please reach out directly to the agency I contract with, as those appointments are managed separately.

First contact
Our first contact will be a 15-minute consultation to ensure I offer the kinds of services you’re looking for. There’s no charge for this. We’ll also talk through next steps in booking an appointment at this time.
Insurance
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United Healthcare.
Fees
If you choose to not use insurance, my fee is $250 for an initial 60-minute intake appointment and $200 for subsequent 50-minute therapy appointments.
Cancellations
Because I reserve time in my schedule for each patient, missed appointments or cancellations within 24 hours are charged a late cancellation fee. To cancel an appointment on a Monday, you must give notice by 12 noon on the preceding Friday to avoid the cancellation fee.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
